The impressive Coal Creek Falls are located after a gentle walk through a mixed beech-podocarp forest.

LAKE MATHESON | SOUTH WESTLAND

A gentle walk leads to views of the mountains reflected on the stunningly still waters of Lake Matheson. It's one of the West Coast's best short walks.

THE PANCAKE ROCKS | BULLER

A limestone landscape of pancake-shaped rock formations, blowholes & surge pools. Spectacular views, coastal forest, rich birdlife & marine mammals

MT BROWN | WESTLAND

This famous little hut has magnificent views from the hut deck that overlook Lake Kaniere, Hokitika, the farmlands of Kokatahi and out to the Tasman Sea.

DOROTHY FALLS

A picturesque waterfall not 2 minutes from the gravel road that borders Lake Kaniere

KOHAIHAI KARAMEA

Subtropical rainforest and wild beaches in the most northern area of the Coast, featuring NZ's only native palm, the Nikau.

HOKITIKA GORGE

A true photogenic gem. Brilliant turquoise water fringed with stark white limestone cliffs and lush green rainforest
