Rachel Gillespie is a full-time astrophotographer, landscape photographer and guide in the Mackenzie Country, Kaikoura and Fiordland, specialising in10 day South Island Adventures and group workshops. She is also a public speaker

Her background as a professional photographer has seen her host guests at The Lindis Lodge, Ahuriri, Lakestone Lodge and other exceptional destinations around the region. Adventuring in the Aoraki Mount Cook Dark Sky Reserve and the extended South Island is where you'll often find her, when she is not being a busy mum of 3.

Rachel Gillespie runs an accredited full time guiding cruise, private tours and tourism photography business, roaming the length and breadth of the South Island since 2013.

Born and bred in the South and with a great passion for landscape photography, her family took her to off the beaten path as a child and she has been in love with nature ever since. She is the perfect person to guide you through her backyard to more magical locations that you’d even know were there.
She is a whole hearted advocate for the Aoraki Mount Cook Dark Sky Reserve and running astro focused workshops.  She thoroughly enjoys supporting people to master the fundamentals of all aspects of their photography, get results they’re happy with and is always up for some really great adventures along the way!  Her 
passion is teaching others how to get their cameras off auto to master manual settings and build client confidence in the outdoors, while capturing her beautiful country.

Rachel also has a busy print and canvas business and tutors fine art printing workshops.

Rachel offers a wide range of services including landscape, aerial photography and astrophotography tours, tuition and workshops, glacier guided tours with a pro glacier company at Tasman Glacier, shoots custom commercial images, environmental portraits, kitchen splashbacks, large wall prints and wall paper. She also sells prints, canvas and metal artwork, made to measure or one off commission images.

Rachel has worked with Adobe, Winterstellar Dark Skies, Aoraki Mackenzie Dark Sky Trust, Kaikoura Dark Sky Trust, IDNZ, Abercrombie & Kent, Beyond the Blue, ChristchurchNZ, MackenzieNZ, WaitakiNZ and she is a supporter of The Kaimanawa Wild Horses, Women's Refuge, Gumboot Friday and has been featured on 100% Pure New Zealand and many other publications.

Rachel shoots on Canon gear and looks forward to taking you to her special spots and locations while sharing her life's work.
